Every voter counts and every vote is counted!

The Brennan Center argues in The Myth of Voter Fraud and 7 Facts about Voter Fraud and Myths being spread about them that individual voter fraud is insignificant and “Voter fraud is unacceptable, but we must find solutions that address actual problems instead of imposing policies that make it harder for millions of eligible Americans to participate in our democracy.”

The real threat to election integrity is election interference.  Brennan cites:

  • Out-of-date voting equipment
  • Not enough voting equipment at voting precincts
  • Intimidation of election officials
  • Interference by poll watchers at the precincts
  • Failure to update voter databases accurately
  • Voter purging by States
  • Unjustified recounts and legal challenges to the vote results
  • Social media lies that undermine voter confidence in election process
  • Foreign interference

The conservative Heritage Foundation argues that voter fraud is real and rampant.5 They list multiple ways individuals can vote fraudulently:

  •  Impersonation fraud at the polls
  • False registrations
  • Duplicate voting
  • Fraudulent use of absentee ballots
  • Illegal “assistance” at the polls
  • Ineligible voting.

Their list also includes buying votes, ballot petition fraud and altering the vote count, forms of “election interference” rather than individual voter fraud.

The Associated Press investigated all 475 disputed ballots (out of 311,257 cast) in 6 battleground states in the 2020 election.6   After being checked, most were disqualified and not counted. “

Voter Fraud” is not the  problem with elections, and stricter voter ID laws aren’t making them more secure.
