2023 Accomplishments

Through its website and by e-mails, the National Voter Corps (NVC) continues to provide information to help mobilize volunteers to assist grass roots voting organizations nationwide so that every voter counts, and every vote is counted.

• NVC updated its map of voting rights organizations throughout the United States (all 50 states and D.C) on its website which connects volunteers to organizations at the local and national level.
• NVC provided detailed educational materials for use by the public about barriers to voting and other voting-related issues.
• Throughout the year, the NVC recruited volunteers for nonpartisan organizations dedicated to registering voters and ensuring the integrity of their vote.
• NVC also partnered with many other organizations that share similar goals, including the League of Women Voters, the Center for Common Ground, the NAACP and ACLU affiliates and Declaration for American Democracy.
• NVC also connected with other nonpartisan organizations by providing zoom events to inform interested volunteers. Our Executive Director spoke at numerous community events in support of the Freedom to Vote: John R Lewis Voters Rights Act to end the attack on voting and protect the integrity of election processes.
• NVC worked with staff at the Senate Rules committee and with lawyers and a law school Dean to strategize how to end the filibuster, arguing that it was an unconstitutional rule used by the Senate which violates the 17th Amendment.

2024 Challenges

Our greatest challenge is the threat to democracy facing our country today. Large numbers of Americans believe the false claims by some politicians that the 2020 election was stolen. Election officials are being attacked while performing their official duties. Many states have made voting more difficult, especially for youth, indigenous people, and people of color. We anticipate fighting on many fronts simply to hold on to the gains made in voting rights throughout America’s history. In the face of so much turbulence and divisiveness, NVC is concerned that wearied citizens might not pay attention to the real threats to free and fair elections.

2024 Goals

As an all-volunteer nonpartisan organization, National Voter Corps will continue working toward our mission: every vote counts and every vote is counted. Of special concern is the low voter turnout in many parts of the country, especially among young voters. Our top four goals are:

1. Help forge connections between various local, state, and national voting groups.
2. Use social media and our website to link concerned citizens with their nearest most active voting rights/voter assistance organizations.
3. Educate voters and policy makers about the national crisis in voting rights, through our website, emails, and public meetings as well as working with experts looking for solutions which will result in new voting rights laws.
4. Continue to reach out to 18-35 year-olds, the group which has the lowest voter turnout to educate them:

• • to understand the importance of their exercising their vote,
  • to know how to assess candidates and issues,
  • to stimulate them to register to vote, and
  • to get them to vote.

We will also participate directly in voter registration events as opportunities arise.

National Voter Corps was formed in 2016 in Palo Alto, CA. We are a nonpartisan and nonprofit unincorporated organization.  Tax-deductible Donations  are managed for NVC via The Social Good Fund, a 501(c)(3).
